We are using K2 workflows and K2 smart forms with SharePoint for automating different business processes, but sometimes we face problems for complex systems with storing data in SharePoint list, it makes it complecated for reporting as well as the SharePoint is not designed as relational databases.

My question is if we start using K2 workflows and K2 smart form with storing data in SQL tables instead of SharePoint Lists/Libraries is it a good approach? and what can be the issues that we can face with this approach? is there any recommendation from K2 on this.

Hi,

Yes you can do as such and use Smart Objects to interact with the underlying Database.

I am not sure about this being a preferred approach or not but I have done this.

Thanks and Regards,
