force workflow to proceed after error

Jump to solution

I had  some items in a work flow that got stuck with the following error:

Error in task. Cannot find item with id 35 in list 'Spirit Awards'. Check the user has at least read permissions. Current user: i:0#.w|mmcnt\Username.

I have corrected the permission issues in sharepoint, but was wondering if there is any way to have the workflow "re-try"  or proceed past where it got stuck. I know I can cancel and reprocess, but then that would generate emails which am trying to avoid.

If currently you are using a state machine, you have set a start state.

In some cases I solved it with the following steps:

-Add a new state named "Starter"

-Add a new variable named "var_StartFromState"

-On the "Starter" State branch add a Switch action that will switch to the State depending on var_StartFromState

if var_StartFromState="" start your state machine as usual.

Hope this helps.
