Hi Expert,

This is look bad for me.

Every time i use Event Notification in Default Client Event or Smartform Client Event, it doesn't work.

The Destination User already set to may NTName.

i was looking for the Mail Notification, i'm waiting, but the mail doesn't come.

after that i try to add cc and bcc at the Event Notification Setting to a hardcore mail example : mymail@gmail.com

then i run the activity instance.

but the result same, the mail doesn't come.

everything is ok if i use email event, but not the Event Notification.

Is there any one ever face the same problem or know what's wrong with the Event Notification ?.

Thanks for your attention.

Best Regard,

Musa

Hi Musa,

Is it just the Event notifications that dont get sent or dont  you recieve any mails at all? Please would you reproduce the issue and attach the latest K2HostServerlog to the thread. This can be found in C:Program Files (x86)K2 blackpearlHost ServerBin.

Also can you let me know what errorsa re present with the logs?

Kind regards,

Yannick

Hi Musa,

Here's what could be happening:

a. Emails could be getting stuck in MSMQ and sometimes it's just a matter of flusing the queue out and then it'll work (this is rare)

b. MSMQ may be passing it into SMTP and SMTP could be shooting it into a black hole somewhere, but once it's in SMTP it's out of our hands

-------

Here's some suggestions - read carefully:

1. If you find that with your hostserver logs that it looks like you're getting an MSMQ.TestConnectivity error with a "A workgroup installation computer does not support the operation" - you may want to reinstall MSMQ. That's one we've seen many customers have issues with regarding event notifications not working. Reference on MSMQ may be found here:

http://help.k2.com/onlinehelp/K2blackpearl/ICG/4.6.8/webframe.html#MSMQ.html

Note* if you perform this and have problems with MSMQ and setting the registry key, uninstall and reinstall MSMQ.

2. Make sure Autodiscover is enabled (set to 'True') in the ConnectionStringEditor and that the Service account does have a valud email address in AD. The K2 Service account should have the email address in AD of the Exchange Online Mailbox the emails are sent from. Rerun the setup to validate the EWS URL.

I don't receive any mails at all from the Event Notification.

Attached is the K2HostServerlog where i re-generate create new instance from the activity that only contain Default Client Event (which is i already set the Event Notification Setting)

i can't find "MSMQ.TestConnectivity" in this last 5 message. but i can find it on the the above 5 sentences (at the log files attached).

with this condition, do i need to continue your suggestion Mrs/Ms. Alyssa ?.

Thank you,

Musa

Dear Mrs/Ms. Alyssa,

I just check the MSMQ in the server's feature. but it's already installed all (see attached).

from my situation at my post above, is it really need to reinstall MSMQ?.

if yes, how to uninstall it?, is it as easy as we uncheck the features?.

Thank you,

Musa

Hi Musa,

No you don't need to continue with my suggestion! Thanks for the additional information on your matter though; that definitely should help more with figuring out your issue. In this moment, I have not looked into the errors you are seeing and have never seen those before so I can't give you advice with that - but later on if I have some spare time I'll try to look into them for you and see what I can find. Otherwise, I hope someone else can be more helpful!

Hi Musa,

I looked a little into this. The only semi-useful information I could find is the following:

"User Manager 127.0.0.1 returned an empty queue" - This message is logged if your K2 roles does not have at least one valid user. To stop the messages being logged, you must add at least one user to all the roles, or delete the empty roles.

Note: If the roles have AD groups, those groups must have at least one user.

Please just make sure that all the users in your roles are AD users.

_________

I also found some other instances where the resolution for that error was different but it may not be relevant to you; one regards integrating SP into the workflow design.

Sorry that I have not been of more help Musa!
