...and one rule to rule them all!

Jump to solution

Hey Everyone,

I have a funky question for you. I have a lot of validation rules on my form [this field needs to be filled out, that field needs to be completed sort of thing].  I want to use the 'save as draft' [ Tips on how to emulate draft functionality in a list] functionality, but that won't work unless i add a line to all my rules like " && draft != no', but like i said i have a lot of rules.  Anyone know of a way I can create a master rule to rule them all that will stop the other rules from kicking in in draft mode?

Thanks,

Jennifer

Change the save as draft causes validation option to no.

Thanks for the reply!  Could you elaborate a little bit?

Sorry!  I'm usually short on words haha.  In your button control for save as draft

Change that option to no.  That should not process any validation rules that you have built into your nintex form.

As I think about this though, if you have any requirements at the list level, since you are actually saving a list item, those requirements will have to be met.

I also have required fields in SharePoint that I need to work around.
