Hi all

We are going through a domain restructuring process and I need to move the K2 and SQL Servers to a new AD domain.  The service accounts will also be changed.

It seems to me that it would be best to do a new install and then to copy the old databases across.  I did see some info in the help file that suggested I should retain the new versions of the _Server table (K2Server database) and the LicenseKeys table (HostServer database).

What I am not sure about is what this will do to any in-flight workflows.  I suspect it will break them, but I don't know of any way to correct them.

Has anyone done this before, or does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Thanks,

Andrew

It will be easier to do a new install with the old DBs. few things to note down...

  • the new SQL server should be of same collation as old one
  • you might need a new K2 license key since system key is going to change because of new hardware
  • running workflows will not break because their status is in the DB

For changing AD domain, refer to http://help.k2.com/en/KB000285.aspx

It is worth going for consultancy from K2.
