Hi All,

A client of mine has k2 blackpoint set up, and they have given a couple of people "developer" rights on k2. If these users try to use K2 Studio on their local machines, studio falls over whenever they do anything on the canvas, but if they log into the K2 Server, and then load studio there, it all works fine. All users have done a clean re-install, installed all prerequisites and they still are having no joy. Has anyone gotten K2 studio to run on a client machine ?

Running K2 Studio directly on the client machine is a typical configuration and should not be a problem.  I have used K2 Studio many times before with many customers only on the client machine.

There must be some client configuration issue causing the problem.

Does K2 Studio generate an error message that you can post?  Also check the Windows Event logs as well for clues to the problem.

Does the problem only occur with a single process or does it occur with a brand new blank process?

They haven't been able to keep k2 open long enough to save a process. K2 doesn't show any error message but there is an eventlog entry:

You will probably want to submit a support ticket with K2 to help work through this one.

However, things I would try would be to disable any running programs at start up and temporarily disable the anti virus program and firewall for testing purposes and try K2 Studio.

If you log in as local administrator so that it doesn't load any network group policies does K2 Studio still crash.

The following post is actually about the previous version of K2 Studio but some of the troubleshooting suggestions might still apply.

Already have posted a support ticket on Portal, been working with them since yesterday morning trying to get it working, was just hoping someone on underground has had this before.

Turns out there was an issue with the Site Collection that was being used, they have setup a new site collection to match the one they were using, and now use studio with that one, and all is well.
