Viewing a lookup field in Chronological order

Jump to solution

I have a Nintex form with a lookup field.  Is there a way to display the lookup field so the records are displayed in chronological descending order of a particular field from the lookup list such as the Created field.

Current display of Lookup field

Title                                     Created

Gone with the Wind          Jan 1 2015

Star Wars                         Jan 1 2016

Home Alone                     Jan 1 2017

Desired display of Lookup field

Title                                     Created

Home Alone                     Jan 1 2017

Star Wars                         Jan 1 2016

Gone with the Wind          Jan 1 2015

Hey David, you could create a separate view in the list that sorts by created. Then have the lookup point to the new view.

In the lookup control settings there should be an option for Source View. Enter the name of the view in there... It's been awhile since I've used it, you may have to enter the GUID of it

I believe you can only do this if you drag on a list lookup control onto your form from the SharePoint part of your toolbox and manually hook it all up (and connect it to your required field).
