Show/Hide list columns based on a choice

Jump to solution

Can you please help me achive the following in Nintex forms ?

If a user selects Yes to a choice column, he will be shown appropriate columns and if she selects No, she will be shown another set of columns.

How to achieve this logic ?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Parval,

you will need to two rules for this.

One for each control that you want to hide/show.

eg. if you have:

Choice1

ListLookup1

ListLookup2

then you would have a rule for ListLookup1 that says Choice1=='true' check the box hide.

For ListLookup2, you have Choice1=='false' and check the box hide.

Hi Parval,

should be no problem, use Rules for this requirement:

  • Select the control you want to hide
  • Make sure you entered a name for this control (in the ribbon or the control settings)
  • create a new rule for this control (e.g. via "Add Rule" in the ribbon)
  • Configure your rule like this:
    • Name: Whatever you like
    • Rule Type: Formatting
    • Condition: [NameOfChoiceColumn] == true (make sure you use the formula builder here and select your control from the "named controls" tab)
    • Check "Hide" at the bottom of the Rules pane
  • repeat these steps for all controls you want to show/hide if your choice column is set or not

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Cheers

Hi,

you can create two panels in you form and put all the controls that have to be visible with the Yes in one, and the other in the other panel. Than you can create a formatting rule on each panel based on the choice column, remember in the rule to use the Named Control so it's tied to the current value of the choice.
