Duplicate a Process

Hi, me again :)

This time I would like to duplicate a process on the same platform.

The purpose is to have the same process and data types, but bound to different groups / sharepoint sites.

My question is about the smartobjects.

Is it wise to create new smartobjects with the same structure, but specific to my new process, or is it better to reuse the existing ones.

I'm tempted to use the ones already in place, but the processes will have many instances, each of which will have many occurences of the smartobjects, and I fear to reach the limit of my "ID" autonumber field.

On the other hand, having duplicate smartobjects allows more confort in case one of the process requires some changes in his smartobject that the others don't.

What's your insight on this ?

So, do you expect the ID to exceed 2,147,483,647? That is a lot. I think you need to look at the design again on how the data will be managed.

You mentioned that it will be a duplicate process, so my suggestion would be to reuse existing smartobjects.

Hi,

I guess we won't have this much records, indeed -_-.

I'll go with shared smartobjects.

Thanks
