Issue

When starting a new workflow in which a task is assigned to an Active Directory group, and the group contains users that have parenthesis in their Fully Qualified Name (FQN), results in a message stating “The User does not have permissions to Start the Process” or the task is not available on the user’s worklist.

Symptoms

The issue is caused by unmatched parentheses in the FQN, such as Bob (Finance Manager.

Troubleshooting Steps

To resolve the issue, remove the users from the group or correct the unmatched parentheses in the user’s AD record, such as Bob (Finance Manager).
