Within the workflow settings if you select \Expected workflow duration\" is there a way to set an email to send to the SharePoint admin if that time is passed?

I have a workflow that stayed "In Progress" although it should have failed. But since it didn't fail I never received a notification. Is there a way if I set the "expected workflow duraction" in the workflow settings to specify I would like an email, or is this done by default? Luckily one user noticed he didn't receive a notification to review a project, but I can't rely on observation only to catch issue workflow.

Thanks.

Perhaps you can run a workflow daily or weekly to report you all items with workflows "expired" based on the "expected workflow duration"

You could do it with a "Site workflow"
