I have a list with many items which has a column that captures the month/year. I have turned on the count totals to show how many items there is per month, but what I want to do is put this count number into a column or table/chart so I can see something like the below. These will be used as metrics.

If you have month as a column name you can create a view the groups by month and then select "Count" on the month column in the Totals section of the view creation screen.
What I want to do is calculations with the monthly counts. ie what % more/less did we get. So I need to put the counts in a column, but not sure how to do this. Any ideas.
