I have a leave workflow which is working fine with no issues
What I want to do is to pause the workflow 2 days\(48 hours) before start date of the workflow/leave request
When applying for leave you supplier a start date and the end date, just before the initiator goes on leave the workflow should pause\let the line manager know 2 days before going on leave.
Could someone assist me in doing this in a workflow
Appreciate any help

Great question and one that often confuses a lot of users on how to pull off. I have seen users use the pause until action to achieve this function, but there are other ways to get this done.
Requirements as I see it:
The users puts in a leave request and sets the dates they want to leave. Upon approval of leave, you want a workflow to notify the manager that the employee has leave in two days.
Let me know if these point you in the right direction.
As you can see on the picture, I have done the same thing that Michelle asked however it still got error at "Pause Until" action and does not run properly.
I don´t know why, but there is no secret and this does not work.. getting annoyed at all.. LOL
In the Option (#2) above, what happens when the Start leave date changes? I assume when the item is revised, the workflow should run its course again and re-calc the variable Notify Date?
I am doing something similar to this case, and ran into an issue where the Pause Until function works as intended however only when the date has not been changed. It seems like once the variable (i.e. Notify Date) has been established, it will pause until then even if the date has been changed.
