No error message when required field not filled

Jump to solution

I set validation rules for some required fields in three panels, and Submit button is set to submitRedirect() to a page with " Your request has been submitted " ( this is also client's requirement, see attached picture). When the required fields are not filled ( empty), it does not block the submission, no error message ( message added in the rules). If the required fields not be filled, it does not show in sharepoint 2013 list. Is there a way to change it and show error message if the required field not be filled. The causes validation in Submit is set to "Yes”.

@Jack2019 ...there are no attachment in your post.

Now when you said "Required", is it the list column in SharePoint which is required or you're putting a validation rule on a control?

If the list column is required, it will definately won't allow to submit and create the item.

If it's the validation rule then without seeing the formula it's hard to comment

These fields are not list columns in SharePoint; validation rules are similar as below:

and(equals(PanelSelect,"Panel 1"),isNullOrEmpty({Self}))

and(equals(PanelSelect,"Panel 2"),isNullOrEmpty({Self}))
