Nintex form- runtime lookup function

I have a nintex form that has two calculated fields using runtime lookup functions. Lookup function on calculated field 1 returns multiple values. I want to be able to extract one of those values and pass it as a parameter to the lookup formula in calculated field 2. How can I do that ?

Re: Nintex form- runtime lookup function

Hi,

Could you please show us how you configure the 1st calculated field with the runtime lookup function to result multiple values?

Re: Nintex form- runtime lookup function

lookup("LIST TO LOOKUP","COLUMN TO LOOKUP",VALUE TO FILTER ON,"COLUMN VAUE TO FETCH", True)

The last parameter "true" will bring in multiple values if the lookup results in multiple matches

Didn't know this last parameter, thanks !

Now, how what logic would you apply to extract the value? Minimal value? maximal value? something else?

That's the question. I have not found any runtime function that would let me parse the values. Hoping that someone will answer that for me too.

Re: Nintex form- runtime lookup function

I may be out in left field here as relative newbie, but I'll take a stab...

Can you send the result of calculated field 1 to a collection variable. Then, on the collection variable perform a 'for each' action which contains the logic and actions needed to extract the desired value? The resulting value would then output to a variable which would supply the parameter to the lookup formula in calculated field 2.

Just a thought based on my limited experience.

Re: Nintex form- runtime lookup function

Out of the box of Nintex, the only functions I've seen dealing with arrays are those ones :

  • avg()
  • inArray()
  • min()
  • max()
  • sum()

Re: Nintex form- runtime lookup function

You may have some possibilities by using regular expression with the replace() runtime function.

Could you give us an example of a real case?
