Nintex Workflow 2013 need to remove time from date

I am pulling the value from a Date column which is set to display only the Date in the SharePoint list.  When I store the date in a variable and then add the date to the subject of an email, it also includes the time of 12:00 AM.  How can I strip out the time and only include the date.
