Mark field2 required when dropdown1 has certain selection

Dear all,

Is it possible to make a field required when a certain value has been selected in a previous drop down?

A bit like:

Dropdown value_A makes field_B required.

Dropdown value_Z leaves field_B not required.

I hope I've made myself understandable

Re: Mark field2 required when dropdown1 has certain selection

Hi Stephane

using Nintex Forms You can create a validation rule like

and(isNullOrEmpty({Self}), equals(Dropdown,"value_A))

Kind regards

Manfred

It's a start but it's not making my field_B (the {self} value) required. Or did I forget something?

The last apostrophe was missing, correct is:

and(isNullOrEmpty({Self}), equals(dropdown,'value_A'))

You have to insert {Self} and dropdown per named control in formula builder.

To check that the value_A is correct create a calculated value control with formula dropdown.

I did use double quote's but it didn't do the trick. When I save the form I can see the required fields and that one ain't one of them.

Still looking for it.

Used syntax:

and(isNullOrEmpty({Self}), equals(CompanyCode, "Value_A"))
