Difficulty supporting multiple layouts

I built an enterprise app in Nintex that requires Desktop, Nintex Mobile Tablet and Nintex Mobile for iPad layouts.

As we begin to develop release 2 we are adding new list columns to the original forms per user requirements. The issue I face is that when I add the new field to each layout, they are not linked across the layouts (this happens to fields when you first create a new layout). This causes headaches having to create multiple versions of the same rules for the different layouts since the controls are different in the "Named Controls" tab.

What I am looking for is a way to link the control across the layouts without having to reset the form layout (huge amount of rework based on the size and complexity of our forms).

Is there currently a way to link the control across layouts without resetting the form layout?

do not add controls from left-sided 'Form controls' pane but rather activate 'Controls in use' pane on ribbon and drag&drop a control on a layout from there

Wow thanks, I had never seen that menu option before.
