I have several workflows in my farm which have been running properly until this morning when I noticed that all started instances were showing the same error below
When is try to start the instances manually I get this;
And when I try to view the WFs on the design canvas I see an exception with no workflow displayed
Please help. I have logged a support ticket with Nintex, but I thought is should also share this in the community incase someone has experienced the same scenario
Is it a production server? Have you the chance to restart it ?

Yes its a production environment. I deleted some items in the NintexWorkflowHistory list and the workflows started as expected. But I still cant tie that to the actual problem. The list had about 205,000 items, reduced it to around 170,000. And this was a tedious and time consuming MANUAL process as deleting through the GUI and using PowerShell failed. I'm still on that operation!

Sorry for replying late, but the issue was caused by the full NintexWorkflowHistory list. Inhad to purge it to resolve the problem
