Insert Reference Using Text Box

Jump to solution

Hello,

On my subject line I am inserting a reference using Item Properties. The information is being pulled from a text box.

It places the text in the subject line But....before the text and after there is string.

So I have this:  Action Required: ETRM Accenture 1 <div class="ExternalClass7441700249C4432BA8A1DBF8795FA957"><html> <p>Testing Sr Manager Workflow</p><html></div>

Is there a way to insert free text?

Thanks,

Suzanne

save first item property textbox value into a workflow variable. make sure you change return type to plain text.

then use workflow variable in notification action.

Marian,

How did you get to the Configure Act - Set Variable?  When I go in to set a variable all I see is to set a variable for the workflow not an item.

 Thanks,

Suzanne

I'm afraid I do not get what you mean...

on the example I posted, I as well set value of workflow variable (string) from the value of list item field (rtf).

When click on Create Variable all I see is:

Name

Type with the options:

Single line of text, Multiple lines of text, Choice, Number, Date and Time, Yes/No, Person or Group, Integer, List Item ID, Action ID, and Collection.

I do not see the screen you pasted above.  How did you get to the screen?

Thanks - Suzanne

ah, I see.

that's not create variable dialog. that's configuration dialog of 'Set variable' workflow action.

you should find the action at left-hand 'Operations' pane.

reference variable‌ ‌ reach text‌ ‌

Thank you, does the Set field need to say String?  I don't have that option.
