Hi,

I have one development encironment, which has K2 blackpearl installed and i am working and designging my workflows in K2 Designer also i haven't installed any develper tools for visual studio 2012.

For integrating SAP with K2 and to create smart object from it, i have installed K2 Connect and EPR Connect and it got installed succesfully. I have also added my SAP connection string and tested succesfully.

But when i try to register my service instance i got error "VALIDATIONCould not connect to remote host api on [myserver:8085]. Check K2 Connect server in Microsoft Service Management Environment".

to resolve this error i have turned off my firewall but didn't work. So please help me out.

I have not added any license details to K2 Connect, so it be the issue?

And one more thing, for production we have SharePoint 2010, and in dev environment we didn't installed K2 for Visual Studio. We have Visual Studio 2012 in dev.

So, once we configure K2 Connect,

  1. how can i create smart object and which version of Visual Studio is required?
  2. Can i user Smart Object Tester for creating smart object?
  3. If i required to install K2 for Visual studio than how to install it and it will affect my existing Dev environment?

Hi,

It could be an issue of license, If you have already license, please make sure of the following:

(Administrative Tools > Services). make sure the service is running(started) using K2 Service Account.

For more information on working with K2 connect, please see the following:

http://help.k2.com/onlinehelp/k2connect/userguide/4.6.5/webframe.html#K2_Designer_for_Visual_Studio_2012_with_K2_connect_for_SAP.html
http://help.k2.com/onlinehelp/k2connect/userguide/4.6.5/webframe.html#K2_connect_Test_Cockpit.html

Please check the compatibility matrix to know what version of Visual Studio is supported:

http://help.k2.com/blackpearl/support-matrix#VisualStudio

Yes you can use the smartobject tester tool to create SMOs.

Installing K2 for Visual Studio will not affect your environment.

wish this helps

Hi, Hiren_Thesiya,

Yes, you will need Visual Studio and K2 for Visual Studio. To determine which version, please refer to our support matrix and pick accordingly http://help.k2.com/blackpearl/support-matrix

Could you please let us know what your topology is? Standalone, distributed, NLB? For NLB environments you need to point the K2 Connect service instance to the NLB and not your server.

Moreover, in Services, you need to have the K2 Service account as 'Logon as a service' in order to connect.

Kind Regards,

MA

Hi,

Please have a look at the Application Event logs, If you find this error :

"Valid K2 connect License key not found. Please use the K2 connect Administration Tool to add a valid License key."

then you need a license, go to Portal.K2.com to request a license key.

My knowledge says that it is compulsory to use Visual Studio for creating smart object from SAP, I didn't really interact much with Connect and SAP.

Please check http://help.k2.com/, you might find your answer there :)

Have a look at this
