How to read permissions from an item?

Jump to solution

I have a SharePoint List. A workflow is setting individual permissions on each item. It is possible to read the individual permissions from each item with Nintex Workflow?

With the web service "GetPermissionCollection" I can only read the permissions of the list or a site.

I found a powershell script for this, but with Nintex out of the box I can't use it. I know there are Nintex addons to run a Powershell.

Have anybody an idea how I can collect the item permissions?

Thanks.

Hi Klaus,

there is no ootb web service offering a method for getting item permissions.

If you have the possibility to add a custom web service in your environment, you can have a look at this Will Code for Nuts: Item level security with SharePoint web services

Or if you tell us a little more about your business requirement, we can maybe try to find a workaround for this.

Cheers

Philipp

Hi guys, Looks like the Will Code for Nuts url above no longer works. Can someone provide details on adding a custom web service to check for item permissions?
