Yes, there is a database on the backend that stores all information relating to the K2 services.


It is recommended to not modify this database directly though as it could have knock-on effects with other areas of the system.

If you are using pre v4.6, you will have multiple K2 databases on the SQL server that are responsible to store the data. In the latest version of 4.6, there will be only one SQL database called K2 that stores the info. Smartbox related smartobjects store data in [dbo].[tablename]. If you are using data fields, use this tool at your own risk:
