Hi there,

We migrated our existing K2 environment to new servers in a new domain using existing databases.

The K2 server was installed successfully after (a long) while. Now we try to install the K2 for Reporting component.

The difference is that we now have a dedicated Reporting server (althought the problem also happens when Reporting is

installed on the K2 server itself). When running the K2 setup and passing the first few steps we encounter an error on the

SQL Reporting Services Configuration page. After entering the Web Service URL and pressing Test we get the error "Connection failed: site name does not exist". We have checked carefully all prerequisites. As mentioned before, we have the same error when Reporting Services are installed locally on the K2 server and run the K2 for Reporting setup. In both cases the URL works fine when entered in a browser. Kerberos has been set up correctly.

Could someone help us please?

Kind regards,

Ruud Muilwijk,

Marco Eberson

Hi Ruud,

You can have a look at the following help.k2.com article - http://help.k2.com/en/kb000638.aspx

This explains that we have removed the requirement for SSRS integration.

In previous versions of K2 blackpearl, the K2 Reporting Component for Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) was installed on the Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services server . In K2 blackpearl 4.5, K2 Reports are now using local mode and are no longer dependant on a SSRS Server.  This includes both the Workspace Report Designer Reports and the Out of the Box (OOB) Reports hosted in SharePoint Process Portal and in the K2 Workspace.

SSRS integration is still supported in K2 blackpearl 4.5 for customers:

  • Who wish to use the SSRS server to expose reports in other contexts besides Workspace and Process Portals
  • Who wish to use other design tools and then import reports into Workspace Report Designer.

Is SSRS integration needed for your environment?
