How to Populate the Field values from the Nintex form to Task Form in Nintex 2013

I have a Nintex form with the fields designed and works fine. There is a workflow for the same form and has three approval stages. At each approval stage I want to make the  Task Form to be appeared for the approvers to change(Edit) and approve it.

I Changed the task Form as it looks like the actual form and added the Task Outcome properties for  approve or reject.

The issue is, When this task form comes for the Approval, Task Form doesn't show the field values which are given by the requestor or initiator.

Could some one help me to populate the Field values at every Approval Stage in the Task Form?

HI Ram,

Export the actual form and go to workflow and open the default task approval form and import the form that you exported.

once that is done, drag the controls for the approvals. Save it and public the workflow.

Make sure all the fields are in the main form are connected to the list fields.

Re: How to Populate the Field values from the Nintex form to  Task Form in Nintex 2013

Hi Sojan,

I have done the exact way what you mentioned.

Step1: Exported the form and saved it as .xml(Actual form) file.

Step2: In the Workflow, used Edit with Nintex forms and imported the .xml which is actual form and added Task Outcome properties.

Step3: I saved and published the work flow.

Only few values which are coming from active directory like Name and User ID are showing in the approval task form for all approvals. All the Lookup Fields shows the Default value "Please select a Value" rather showing the input values which are requested by End User or Initiator.

Do I have to work with the workflow to show the fields?

Thank you

does the user that is being confirming the task (so have opening the task form) have appropriate privileges on list and/or list item the workflow runs on?

ie. if he goes to the list, can he open and edit the item he the task for?

Re: How to Populate the Field values from the Nintex form to  Task Form in Nintex 2013

Hi Sojan,

I just tried in another way, I could able to see the field values on the Task form but can't be edited.

I neither exported the form nor edited the task form. I saved the form which comes in default then the field values are populated ( Since these controls are linked, as it shows the linked property for all the fields).

When I export and import the form it doesn't show the linked property in the Task form. ( I'm not sure if this is right)

The requirement is, at each approval stage the approvers should be able to change the Values if needed and Approve/Reject by the Approver.

Now, I want this approval Task form to be Edited (Change the Values if needed)  by approvers.

Yes, Permissions are set up Properly so that who ever is approving the task will have contribute rights both on the item as well as on the list where the item is saved.

Hi Ram,

The imported form should work, because i have done that. Anyway if you are going with default task form, the controls will not be enabled. It is in display mode. If you got to control setting you change it auto or edit mode.

For the imported form, please make sure that all the controls are connected to the filed.
