How do you assign a task and set the due date of the task to number of days/weeks away?

I want to assign a task to someone, for example:

"Finish editing your charter - this event is due in [30 days]."  Is there a way to configure the due date to a number of days/weeks, rather than a specific date in time because that seems to be the only option I am given.  Right now, it just gives me the calendar on the side to pick the date it needs to be completed.  That won't work because this wont adapt to real time document submission/revisions.

Hi Gabriel,

right, you need to specify a specific date. However you can also use a dynamic date.

Try adding a calculate date action before your task assignment. There you can insert a current date placeholder which will be filled by the real date when the workflow is executed each day. Add 30 days to it and save the result in a date variable.

If your workflow runs on January 1st, then it will result in January 31st. If it runs on March 1st it will result in March 31st.

Now pick this calculated date as dynamic date in your task assignment action.

Best regards

Enrico
