We have 2 WFE servers having sharepoint and need to install k2 sharepoint components.

We are unable to see the tab after configuring the K2 for sharepoint.

Hi Saint,

In order for the K2 for SharePoint components to be configured correctly, K2 for SharePoint needs to be installed on all the MOSS servers that make up your farm. This includes both your WFEs as well as your Index, Search and Central Admin server.

Make sure you run the installation on all of these servers. After installing all of the servers, the tab should be visible.

Let us know if this resolves the problem.

hi johan,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I have a question regarding your suggested solution.

Question: Do you mean that we have to install k2 for sharepoint on both servers and then only it will be visible ? If we install it on one server it will not show the K2 tab ?  (Our both WFE servers are load balancer shall we stop the load balancing before we install k2 for sharepoint on WFE1 and vice-versa ?)

 Appreciate your kind suggestion.

Thank you/Regards

Hi Aki,

When the K2 for SharePoint components are installed there are several web services and DLLs installed on the server which the K2 components use to do the integration. Even though the features will be deployed to both servers during the first install, they will not work if both of the servers do not have the web services and DLLs present.

You do not need to break your load balanced environment before installing K2 for SharePoint.

Can you please confirm that you installed the K2 for SharePoint components on the MOSS server that hosts your Central Admin web application? If the tab is not visible in Central Admin it is most likely that this server was not installed properly causing the link to be missing. If the components were installed on the server then something went wrong during the installation and I suggest you log a support ticket with the K2 support team to troubleshoot the installation issue on that server.
