Flexi Task Notification Naming Convention

Hello,

My Flexi Task notifictions are coming out as a short name with some lettering in behind it.  This is due to our AD (Attachment 1).

I tried changing the Show Field within the list column with no difference (Attachment 2).  That just modified the actual list itself. (Attachment 2)

Then I realized that it is within the flexy task Insert reference area (Attachment 3) that I can do this possible.

Does anyone know how to code this properly? I am looking for it to display First Name and Last Name.

Re: Flexi Task Notification Naming Convention

@Smcguinness87 ...you need to use Set Variable action before your flexi task. See below:

  • I've a people/group column called GCM in my list
  • Add Set Variable action before Flexi Task action
  • Create a SLT variable - slt_GCM
  • Now set slt_GCM with current item's GCM field
  • Click on 3 dot button and select Display Name
  • Use slt_GCM variable in the notification body

  • If you need just the first name or last name or both as seperate then you need to use Query User Profile to get FirstName, LastName. You can also get person's manager's name (as per AD) in that.

Please mark this solution if it works for you.

Re: Flexi Task Notification Naming Convention

I think what I am seeing is my LDAP name.  Also, I am pulling from Active Directory.  Will set variable work for this?
