Should I have a K2 Server?

I am setting up K2 Blackpearl and would like some feedback on whether or not to add a K2 server to my SharePoint farm.

The farm currently consists of MOSS 2007 Enterprise Edition:

2x Web Front End (2x quad core cpu, 4GB RAM, load balanced by F5/BigIP)

1x Index/Search/Excel/InfoPath (2x quad core cpu, 16GB RAM)

SQL Server 2005 cluster active/passive, this is the only SQL Server in my organization so it is shared among many applications.

There are 3000 possible users, we would expect 100 concurrent to be a moderate load.

Reading the Installation guide makes me believe I should get another server in my farm where the K2 workspace will be hosted.

 Suggestions, experiences?

 Thanks,

Chase

It sounds like you got a pretty good setup. If you did not put a dedicated server in for K2 where would you install K2?  Just from a quick glance at what you wrote it does not sound like sharing a server would be a large burden. you would just have to monitor it to see if there are negative effects.

Here are some deployment planning guides that can give additional ideas:

Thanks for the response,

If I do not get a dedicated server, I plan on installing all the K2 components on each load balanced WFE.  That way I have some redundancy.
