Hi,
we have a company-wide sharepoint calendar. Entries are made by inviting the calendar as a member for an appointment. If an appointment is cancelled or deleted the entrie has to be removed from the company-wide calendar. Is it possible to schedule a workflow which automatically deletes cancelled appointments in this sharepoint calendar.

I would recommend using blackpearls calendar control instead of SharePoints built-in calendar. I believe you can just set up a rule to delete the entry once the appointment is cancelled. I do not believe there is an out of box way to do this with SharePoint's calendars.

Easy fix is that you only show items in the calendar that are pending or accepted. For example, if the column that shows their joining status is called Category, then you'd only show is equal to Accepted or Pending. Otherwise it won't show on the calendar:
