How would i be able to set up a daily reminder to be sent via email, until the status of the project is "closed"?  I currently have only 2 status' to a project but needs to have a daily reminder notification until status = closed. Thanks for helping

Re: Daily email notification reminder

Hi Jennifer,

You can create a scheduled Site Workflow running everyday on 'non-closed' project using Query List and then Send mail.

Hope it helps,

Christophe

Re: Daily email notification reminder

Then it becomes a little bit more complex because Schedule Workflow is not available in the Online version but Patrick Hosch posted this very interisting Technical article

In the red box mentionned on the article,

Add a Query List action

Configure it with

Query: Select Query Builder and add two fields: ID and the the column containing the name of the person to whom you want to send the reminder (If I remeber well I had issue when the column was of type People. If so, create an additional column with the name of the person as text and refer that one. Let's name it txtPerson for further reference.

Make sure you are filtering on item with status different from Closed using Select items only when the following is true

Result count: Add a variable you will use later to loop

First column is dictionnary variable

Fields XML is also a dictionnary variable

Before the loop initialize to 0 a variable for the index like indexAssignee

Now, time to loop N times (Variable Result Count)

In the loop, use Get an Item from a Dictionary action

Item Name or Path: ({Variable:IndexAssignee) !!!Between () !!!

Dictionnary: First Column

Output: currentFirstColumn (New variable)

Add another Get an Item from a Dictionary action

Item Name or Path: ({Variable:IndexAssignee) !!!Between () !!!

Dictionnary: xmlTeam

Output: currentFieldXML (New variable)

Add a new action: Query XML

XML Source: Select Content and use {Variable:currentFieldXML}

XPath query: /MetaDataCollection/MetaData[Key='txtPerson']/Text

Return result as Text

Query Resutlt in: Left empty

Query first result in nmeRecipient (New variable)

Add a Send an email action and use nmeRecipient

Good luck,

Christophe
