Changing the staus of an event if event date is less than todays date

I have this list that has an "Event date and Time" column. I want to create a site workflow that runs every morning. The site workflow will change the "Status" column to closed when the "Event date and Time" column is older than "Todays date" (which can gather from a variable).

I've tried a RUN IF, and I'm not sure how I match the event date to todays date.... I feel like this is simple but I cannot figure it out.

Please let me know if you need more information.

Thanks,

Jacob

Re: Changing the staus of an event if event date is less than todays date

to compare for date with run if action means you need to query item into the workflow. even ones that need not be changed. this is not efficient, and will become less and less efficient as number of such items in your list will  grow.

the better approach would be to configure query list action the way  it will read in just the items that need to be changed, ie. not closed yet and already outdated.

within query list action you need strictly keep ISO date format.

see an example eg. here https://community.nintex.com/message/48720-re-filtering-multiple-fields-for-null-values?commentID=48...
