Copy to SharePoint action returns no result

How to find out why Copy to SharePoint action simply does nothing?

  • task: copy current item (document) to another library
  • action settings:
    • overwrite if document exists + copy metadata
    • error handling is activated; error text to store in workflow variable
  • trigger: on update item
  • workflow user permissions: contribute on both libraries
  • target url: is valid

No result is returned & no error text in variable.

Nintex version: 2013, 3.1.9.0

Any hints welcome.

I would try unchecking the metadata box to see if that is what is keeping it from copying.

it seems to be a permission topic because

  • create and copy metadata is working with Edit permissions
  • update works only with full control

That's odd. It's almost as if the update is working on the form template, and not the list item. Edit or update should both be possible without granting full control permissions.
