lookup using ID from listlookup throwing an error

I'm trying to do what I thought was a fairly basic function. I have a list of equipment serial numbers and the addresses for that equipment. When the serial number is selected from the Listlookup control I want to use a rule with a lookup to populate the address fields. If I hard code the lookup with a list ID it works perfectly.

code: lookup("lstEquipmentList", "id", 836, "address")

If I use the variable for the listlookup I get an error.

code: lookup("lstEquipmentList", "id", [Form].[lstSNum], "address")

error: Microsoft.SharePoint.Client.InvalidClientQueryException\",\"message\":{\"lang\":\"en-US\",\"value\":\"The expression \\\"ID eq '836;\\\" is not valid.\

I am new to Nintex so sorry if I am missing something simple, also this is being used on SharePoint Online.

Re: lookup using ID from listlookup throwing an error

I was helped with a solution to this issue. I had to create a parseLookup variable, and tie the rule to the variable instead of the Lookup filed. This worked perfectly.

Variable code:

parseLookup([Form].[ddlSerialNumber], false)
