Does using SmartForms at runtime require having Sharepoint installed?  We are targeting clients, who would buy our portal, which would contain K2  Blackpearl, and possibly K2 Smartforms, but we cannot require that they purchase Sharepoint.

Smarforms does not require SharePoint. The SmartForms Server hosts its own runtime in which the forms are designed and executed.

Thanks for your answer.  Can you explain why the K2 smartforms Installation and Configuration guide says:

To use SmartForms at runtime, end users will require the following:

SharePoint 2010 Foundation, Standard or Enterprise RTM or SP1 or Microsoft Office SharePoint

Server (MOSS) 2007 Standard, Enterprise SP2 (required for SmartForms Web Parts and the K2 Designer

SmartForms Client Event)

NVM.  The answer is I misquoted the documentation.  Here's what it really says:

Runtime Prerequisites for end users

To use SmartForms at runtime, end users will require one of the following:

1. Web Browser on their workstation or mobile device:

Internet Explorer 8, 9 or 10

Firefox 13 or greater

Chrome 20 or greater

Safari 5.1.7 or greater

We always test on the latest release versions of Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. The versions listed are the

current versions at the release of K2 smartforms.

2. Microsoft Silverlight 4 or 5 (for the group of Silverlight controls such as the File upload control). Minimum

required version for Silverlight is 4.0.50917.0

3. SharePoint 2010 Foundation, Standard or Enterprise RTM or SP1 or Microsoft Office SharePoint

Server (MOSS) 2007 Standard, Enterprise SP2 (required for SmartForms Web Parts and the K2 Designer

SmartForms Client Event)
