While activating "K2 Workflow Integration Content Types" feature in central administration. The feature isn't get activated in central administration and giving me the following error:-

"Feature '77aaf8b1-b817-4904-b203-3d6119c05a28' could not be installed because the loading of event receiver assembly "Microsoft.Office.Workflow.Feature, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c" failed: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Office.Workflow.Feature, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.File name: 'Microsoft.Office.Workflow.Feature, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c'   at System.Reflection.Assembly._nLoad(AssemblyName fileName, String codeBase, Evidence assemblySecurity, Assembly locationHint, StackCrawlMark "

Is there any hotfix is needed for this error or something else is required?

I've seen this error when I deactivated all out-of-the-box SharePoint workflows. It's basically a SharePoint workflow feature that all of the OOB workflows use, and K2 depends on, yet you can't activate it through the UI. You have two options:

  1. Manually activate one of the SharePoint OOB workflows using the feature activation page
  2. Activate that feature using stsadm:  "stsadm -o activatefeature -filename OffWFCommonFeature.xml -url http://server_name"

For option #2, replace "server_name" with the URL of the site that you're trying to activate the K2 features to.

There are 2 sets of templates:

  1. Windows SharePoint Service (WSS 3.0)
  2. Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS 2007)

If you are developing on a WSS 3.0 box and you try and use a MOSS template then it adds a reference to the "Microsoft.Office.Workflow.Feature" namespace (which is part of the "Microsoft.Office" set of files that come with MOSS.

I'm using WSS 3.0 and it is not providing "Microsoft.Office.Workflow.Feature". So is there any way to install this feature in WSS 3.0

K2 Blackpoint is running well on MOSS 2007.

Please let me know, can we use K2 Blackpoint on WSS 3.0 development environment?

As in WSS 3.0 we're not having "Microsoft.Office.Workflow.Feature" so it isn't activating Workflow feature required for K2.

When did you download the evaluation of K2 blackoint? Is it the 4.5 version?

This should be working on WSS. I don't know why the MOSS solution has been deployed in your WSS environment. Is it a standard WSS installation? Is there any other information you can provide, such as the installation log (and of course the version of K2 blackpoint that you've installed)?

Thanks,

Mike

I'm using K2 Blackpoint 4.9040.3.470 with Update KB000470 version.

It is running perfectly on MOSS 2007. But I'm not having MOSS installed on my machine. I'm using WSS 3.0 on my machine.

I just wanna know-is K2 Blackpoint supports WSS or not?

To access that link you do need a portal account which you should get if you are a K2 blackpoint customer.  If you're still evaluating the software you will not have access to the site.  However the information about the supported versions is also available in the K2 blackpoint help as well.  Its located at:

I'm having WSS 3.0 with Service Pack 2.0.

But still it is showing me the feature activation error.

WSS is definitely supported. I would recommend downloading K2 blackpoint 4.5 (the latest version) and trying to install on WSS.
