Symptoms

In our default setup of K2 http port 81 is being used. Is it being installed this way to leave the IIS host open for an internet-facing site on 80? We are getting ready to move our virtual servers to another host provider and we want to know if port 81 is necessary or can the port be closed and just use default port 80.

Diagnoses

K2 port can be changed to adjust to the Infrastructure changes. We are not tied to an specific port.

Resolution

Once a port has been changed in the bindings, K2 BlackPearl setup manager needs to be executed to apply those changes. Click the Bindings button to select the new bindings to be used. This needs to be done with SmartForms if they are installed. it is recommended to only have one port assigned to a K2 Site.
