Workflow Dissapearing

hey, I have recently been creating some new workflows for some items on a list.  these workflows have ben primarily notifications when a new item has been created, modified or even a scheduled site workflow.  

this isn't the first time but once again today my workflow has disappeared.  once I go in to view the workflow I get the following error message

"ErrorThere is no task list on this site. Workflows require a task list to publish, open and run. Please create a task list."

what am I doing wrong?

note.  I tried this workflow on Friday and it worked.

Goto Workflow Settings and see the Task List Name. Then check that that Task List exists.

We had the same issue with "Site Collection Reusable Workflow Templates". I don't think the task list is ever used by a workflow at this level but after deleting the List we were not able to open the workflow template anymore. Our Solution was to create a new task list with name "Workflow Tasks" on SiteCollection level.

For us creation of a new Task list called "Workflow Tasks" on the root web of the site collection solved it
