Start a Workflow using a Web Service

We call service to start a workflow on list item throughing errors: <soap:Fault xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"><faultcode>soap:Client</faultcode><faultstring>Server was unable to read request. ---&gt; There is an error in XML document (1, 310). ---&gt; Input string was not in a correct format.</faultstring><detail /></soap:Fault>

Kindly help me m stuck with this since almost a month now.. dont know how to resolve this issue.

For anyone who generally ignores answers more than a few years old because you are on a newer version of Sharepoint, this post is still very relevant. We are on Sharepoint 2020 and I followed this to a tee. I needed to send out a task for every active project once a month to the listed project manager. By connecting this to the list task I accomplished that. Definitively one of the most insightful posts on the forum. THANK YOU!
