Disable Escalation Mails

Badge +2

I'm new to K2. I'm managing a workflow that sends out email on escalations. It's currently set to send out an email every other week and repeats five times.

One of the users now needs to stop receiving these emails. Does anyone know how to go about stopping these emails?

Thanks!

Hi Merill

Unfortunately the only way you can change this is by redesigning the process. The main reason is that K2 cannot allow fundamental changes in running instances of a process – like changing of escalations – as it could potentially have an impact on SLAs etc, depending on your business requirement.

Note that if you make the change in your process design, it will only be reflected in new instances that starts after you have deployed the updated version of the process. Existing instances will still run using the original version.

an easy(?) solution may be to get the user to setup a rule so that all emails escalation emails are sent to a different folder - this would not stop the emails being sent, but that user would then not get the emails in his inbox, but rather in a different folder, so it would appear to him that he is not receiving them.

This workaround would also only affect that user, not other users.

Not sure if this will help, but could be an easy way around it, and you wouldn't have to re-design the process....
