Opening a Nintex form in edit mode when editing a list item

I have a simple list in SharePoint, below is example of layout

I am trying to get it so that when staff edit an item it will open the Nintex form (customised to make some fields inactive so they are read only) I have created, but in edit mode and with it pre-populated with the field data for that list item.

When I have tried publishing the Nintex form it instead opens in read only mode.

Viewing the boards I see people saying that this requires javascript but was unsure where or what is required.

I would be very grateful for any help or assistance provided.

Regards,

Andy

How are your users opening the item? If they just click on the Title of the item, then it will open in View Mode. You must change the view of the list so that you show the edit button icon next to the title, and if your user clicks that, then it should open into edit mode.

If you're unsure how to do the above, see this page for more information: https://natechamberlain.com/2018/07/11/the-edit-icon-column-a-sharepoint-essential-for-all-lists-and-libraries/
