When building any workflow to pull data from an Excel Spread sheet in a document library in SP 2013 I get this error:
"The execution returned an unexpected error.
We don't know what happened, but something went wrong."
I have the correct credentials in the Query Excel Services object and when I check connection in test it returns "Ok". This error occurs regardless of what spreadsheet I have attempted to read data from.
Any Ideas on where I need to go next to correct this error?

I think the error is related to the excel services service. Could you please go to Central Administration ans stop / restart the Excel Calculation Service via "Manage Services on server"?
Also, do you find anything related to the error in ULS logs?

Hey Enrico,
So when my tech team last looked at the Excel Services they were getting the same error. Tuesday we had a conference call and I attempted to query an Excel spreadsheet and it worked. No one on either side understands exactly why. They had done all the steps you outlined above to no avail. The good news is that it is working.
