If you are running Vista and are trying to install the K2 for Visio components there are a few extra steps that need to be done.

In addition to verifying your prerequisites, please do the following:

1)      Run the installer as the administrator, that is right-click on the installer and do a run as administrator. This will insure that the components for K2 are installed with the appropriate permissions.

2)      If you need to install the patch found in KB000254, make sure to log out of the current users account. Log back in as the administrator account and run the patch. This needs to be done even if the current user is a local admin on the box. Vista does not grant sufficient rights to this account to run registry edits, nor does it permit you to perform a “run as administrator” on registry edit scripts.

This should enable K2 for Visio.
