Hi, can I make a search in an Excel file based in a value of a sharepoint column?

Ex:

Sharepoint List: Employees

ID: 1859

Name: ???

Excel file: Employees.xlsx

ID: 1859

Name: John Brown >>>> VALUE TO GET WITH NINTEX WORKFLOW

In a Nintex workflow, can I get the Name of an employee based on it's ID inside the Excel file? ID and Name are side by side in the Excel file.

Thanks,

Renato

You may be able to use the Query Excel Services action. It applies to Nintex Workflow Enterprise Edition only and this action requires Microsoft SharePoint Server. This workflow action will retrieve data from a Microsoft Excel workbook via Excel Service

The only downside I see is that this action wants you to specify a Cell or cell range. A single cell must be specified in the 'A1' format. Cell ranges must be specified in the 'A1:B2' format. If a cell or cell range is named, the defined name can also be specified. So you will have to know where to get the value from ahead of time it seems.

Check out the actions details in the help guide Nintex Workflow Help File Excerpts (look here for user guide content)

Any further questions, was this a help?
