Symptoms
There are several messages in the Event Viewer with the following error message:
The K2 [blackpearl] Server service terminated unexpectedly
Diagnoses
This happens on the Development server where there is a Dev License installed so it can only run in Console mode (as the K2 Service account).
Resolution
When the K2 Blackpearl Service starts up, it logs errors in the Event Viewer that it has terminated unexpectedly (because it is only licensed to start in console mode, ie. Dev license).
So the service has been disabled in Windows Services so it doesn't start up automatically again and a workaround has been provided to start the K2 Blackpearl server in console when system is starting up by using the Windows Task Scheduler (and run this as the K2 Service account).
