Creating a document from a list item including all columns data is transfered to the doc library

I have created a (certificate) document library with a number of content types (20) all have the same columns (document properties)  and a certificate List Library using the same columns as the document library, I have created a workflow within the List Library using SharePoint K2 designer.


The workflow:


When item within the List is created the workflow starts
Then - it selects a content type from the document library (using a role if List column contain 'X' use Document Content type 'X', to create the doc)
Then - the document is created fine


The issue is I need the List item data (within all columns) to populate the document library columns before the document is created, can this be done in SharePoint Designer or Studio? Can anyone help?
