SmartObjectException Error on initial access after K2 connect service restart

Symptoms


K2 connect SmOs return an error when executed for a first time after K2 connect service restart. Error message text:
“Smart objectException.Message: Object '%object_name%.rem' has been disconnected or does not exist”
Error is reproducible both when SmO is called from smartforms or SmartObjects Services Tester tool.
 

Diagnoses


This is known issue you may face when using K2 4.6.9. This issue normally appears if K2 Connect service has been restarted without restart of K2 host server service. This has been has been addressed in 4.6.10 as this version of K2 Connect includes SmartObject Memory enhancements on ConnectProvider and ConnectService, and further more in 4.6.11 there were added additional retries to avoid timeout issues on remoting.
 

Resolution

To resolve this issue upgrade to the latest version of K2 components or contact K2 support to obtain a coldfix to address this issue in K2 4.6.9.
