How do I move snippets from one site to another site ?

Hi

We got 6 sites, with the same workflows. Each site is for different companies.

I my workflows, I got some compliated functions and I want to save them, so I can reuse them in other workflows on others sites.

I can find the snippet in siteurl/nintexsnippets, and I can download a copy, but when I upload it to another site, it wants a webpartID.

How do I do it ?

  1. One way would be to place it in a workflow by itself.
  2. Export the workflow.
  3. Go to new site and import the workflow
  4. Save as snippet.

If you view the properties of the snippet you can see a WorkflowPartId - you have to use this in the new site. This worked for me - I hope it helps you.

I know I can use a workflow to move the function but I was hoping to make a list containing all of our snippets, so we could use the same. We are 3 developers and it would be nice to share functions.

If you look on the snippet file with a text editor you can see xml structure. At the last line there is the tag ID, at this tag there is this ID located. So you have to use this id.

How do you upload the snippet file in the new site collection? You should use in the ribbon the Upload Document button. There are folders named with different user ids

Then in the next step you should be redirected to the Editform.aspx where you can insert the correct Titel and ID
