I have a Nintex Form with a few validation rules associated to controls (i.e., if this field is not blank then that field is required, etc.) When I publish it one of two things happens - either the rules will run as expected and the fields will highlight in a red box but then suddenly the form will close or the rules don't run at all and the form closes. I have searched the Nintex site for clues but have come up empty.

It's important that you provide some more information than this, such as:
- The validation code that you've written
- Screenshots of your form with the relevant controls
- Or even an Export of your Form saved as an attachment to this thread!
Without anymore information, it's impossible to deduce why you may have encountered your particular problem.
That being said, the behavior that you're describing suggests that there might be custom (and incorrect) javascript code that is triggering a submit event and prematurely closing the form by Saving it rather than Submitting it.
But we'll need more details to be certain.
