Form validation rule with decision control

Jump to solution

Hi

I am trying to get a rule in my nintex form for a flexi Task working. There  I am want to hide a field depending on a specific decision (decision control). but the rule is not working. The decision consists of 3 values. I check the integers of the values in the database and they are 1, 2, 3. Whenever the user clicks on the decision control all values result in -1. Dont know why. So my rule is not working.

Teh rule

= not(decision,3) ==> hide the control

The initial state of the target control (to be hidden) is hidden. So it is working on load.

Appreciate any help.

Cheers,

Rico

Hi,

Are you trying when Previewing only?

Did you try by editing the task from the Workflow Task ?

I had the same kind of issue for decision control when I was previewing

Christophe

I also used it in the "real" form but nothing changed.

I still got no solution.

Hi,

What I did is to create a computed value in the Form to display the value of Decision Control.

Like this you can see which values to test in the 'real' form

Yes, that is what i did to check the value. on the form. But all I've got was -1.

When I started the form the rule worked and the control was hidden but on the first click on either decision it stopped working.

To make sure I understand, when you click on another decision that the default one, the decision value changes but the displayed computed value remains at -1.

Are you sure the Control Mode of the decision control is set to Auto to make sure is not a refresh issue.

Hi,

I have maybe another hint for you.

To check the value on which you need to test, verify the View Source to the page and search for data-nfChoiceValue for your decision field.

Hope this helps,

Christophe

Hello,

-1 is what will show up in Preview Mode.  You need to run the form live to retrieve the real values of these controls.  In your calculated field, are you getting a -1 when you run the form live?

I reimported the workflow together with the forms and now it is working. Not sure why.
